A school bus carrying about 40 students collided head-on with a van on Orust, causing a major road closure on county road 160.

The incident, which took place in the afternoon, left the van driver trapped and subsequently hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Fortunately, all bus passengers escaped physical harm, though some sustained minor scrapes and were understandably shaken by the experience.

Police and rescue services were quickly on the scene to manage the situation and provide assistance.
