E4 Speed Limits Cut Amid Historic NATO Drill

Trafikverket has issued a warning to drivers on the E4 motorway between Värnamo and Vaggeryd to not get distracted by looking at the sky due to a significant NATO exercise, Steadfast Defender 24, taking place.

The exercise, running from mid-January through June, will see the largest parachute drop in Sweden's history with 800 troops deployed.

To minimize the risk of "look-up accidents," speed limits will be reduced to 70 km/h during peak activity times.

This unprecedented military drill involves 90,000 soldiers from all 32 member countries, aiming to demonstrate NATO's capability to reinforce Europe and deter adversaries..
