Cloetta, a renowned confectionery company, has halted the distribution of hundreds of tons of its chocolate products, including popular items like Kexchoklad, Sportlunch, and Polly, due to concerns over contaminated palm oil used in their production.

The contamination involves palm oil from Malaysia tainted with aromatic hydrocarbons from mineral oil (MOAH), which are potentially harmful to health.

The issue was first identified in Denmark with the same raw material supplier that Cloetta uses.

In response, Cloetta immediately took precautionary measures by stopping finished products in their warehouse and notifying the environmental authorities in Malmö and the Swedish Food Agency.

The company is now awaiting the results of ongoing tests to determine the extent of the contamination and any potential health risks..
